Background
The rules for individual income tax and VAT are spread across policy documents, so an ordinary taxpayer or a small business owner has to read through the clauses before working out what they owe. Existing calculators either require an account or keep the result behind a paywall.
What we did
- Turned the calculation rules for common taxes into an online tool that returns a result as you type
- Kept it free and account-free — open the page and use it
- Stated the calculation basis on the page so users can see where a number comes from
- Made it one of our GEO practice sites, with the crawlable and citable groundwork done alongside
